There's a distinct Breitling appeal to the Transocean, which makes one take an instant liking to it - a vintage-looking chronograph with pump-style pushers, a smooth round case profile, and a legible dial configuration. Yet, this watch has the ability to stand on its own.

It comes with a 43mm stainless steel case, replete with a knurled crown and slender lugs with chamfered edges. It is powered by Breitling's first in-house movement, calibre B01. It's a column-wheel chronograph with a vertical clutch which offers a substantial 70-hour power reserve and has a beat rate of 28,800bph. The colour scheme is panda style, with black-hued sub-dials set against a Mercury Silver dial base. With luminous hands and markers, a tachymeter scale on the outer rim, and a date aperture between four and five o'clock, the watch is highly functional and nothing extraneous.
