Rooted in the spirit of early aviation, this celebrates a legacy of innovation and elegance, reframed in a design that remains strikingly contemporary.
Why we love it
Slender, elegant, and unmistakably refined, this large model in 18K yellow gold offers a contemporary take on the iconic watch originally designed for Alberto Santos-Dumont. Rather than rely on bulk or embellishment, the WGSA0077 makes its presence felt through clean geometry and luxurious detail. The blue satin-brushed sunray dial brings depth and modernity, anchored by golden Roman numerals and steel sword-shaped hands that shimmer with quiet confidence.
Its square 31.4 mm case sits just 7.3 mm thick, delivering a graceful silhouette on the wrist. A blue cabochon-shaped spinel on the beaded crown offers that unmistakable Cartier signature, while the matching blue alligator strap fastens with an 18k yellow gold ardillon buckle for a seamless finish.
Underneath the elegance lies a high-autonomy quartz movement, prized for its reliability and ease. With a water resistance of up to 30 metres, this piece is not just a tribute to history—it’s built for everyday sophistication.
This Santos de Cartier Dumont has visible scratches on the bezel, caseback, and buckle. The leather strap is in good form.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
