A cult Speedmaster with a sci-fi twist that pays playful tribute to its unexpected television fame.
Why we love it
Omega Speedmaster Speedy Tuesday Ultraman 311.12.42.30.01.001 taps into one of the most charming chapters in the Speedmaster’s history. In 1971, the watch surfaced on the wrist of the defence team in the Japanese series Return of Ultraman and that single appearance inspired a devoted following. This limited edition channels that pop-culture heritage with a bold palette that leans heavily into Ultraman’s signature orange. The 42mm stainless steel case frames a black-anodised aluminium dial where vibrant accents appear on the chronograph seconds hand, the tachymeter text, the minute track, and even the first three minutes of the three o’clock sub-dial, hinting at the show’s three-minute transformation rule.
There are delightful surprises hidden in the details. A UV reveal at nine o’clock exposes Ultraman’s mask concealed within the small seconds counter, while the hand of that sub-dial is shaped like his iconic beta capsule. Vintage Omega logos tie the design to the Speedmaster’s more classical roots and the black leather strap completes the character with everyday wearability. Inside, the trusted hand-wound calibre 1861 continues the moonwatch lineage with authenticity and tactile charm.
Limited to just 2,012 pieces, this Speedy captures nostalgia, pop-culture personality, and true collector appeal in one irresistibly fun package.
This Omega Speedmaster Anniversary speedy Tuesday “Ultraman” 311.12.42.30.01.001 has visible scratches on the crystal and case. The caseback and clasp have nicks as well. Please note that the leather strap is in satisfactory form.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
