Panerai's Luminor 1950 gets a little more wrist-friendly with this 42mm stainless steel timepiece with a striking black Clous de Paris dial.
Why we love it
The clout held by Luminor watches within Panerai's catalogue is immense, and the maison understands it well. The release of Luminor 1950 3 Days GMT in size 42mm seemed like a calculative step towards ensuring that the linchpin can be enjoyed by a wider collector group. Such consideration is impressive and more so because it is delivered creatively within the aesthetical codes of the collection.
Therefore, the watch greets us with its signature cushion-shaped case and the recognisable crown guard. The material used for this timepiece is stainless steel, picked by the maison for its high corrosion resistance properties. A fine mirror finish blankets the case's entire surface for a luxe appeal. Almost counterpointing the familiarity of the case is the Clous de Paris dial in black. Even though it carries characteristic Panerai elements, the overall appeal is quite refreshing. Also, it aptly highlights the watch's muscle power - the GMT complication, date function, and the three-day running autonomy, all powered by the self-winding movement calibre P.9001.

Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
