The Royal Oak's Grande Tapisserie motif is its most immediately recognisable surface detail, the interlocking squares of the "great tapestry" pattern applied across the dial with a precision that requires its own specialist tooling. On this special edition, the pattern runs in a smoked blue that is not uniform in tone: the colour deepens toward the dial's outer edge, the darkened perimeter extending into the silver-grey inner bezel in a continuous gradient effect. Audemars Piguet describes this as "enhancing depth and texture, while contrasting with the details of the dial." The 41mm case in 18k white gold carries a glareproofed sapphire crystal and a sapphire caseback, with a screw-locked crown and water resistance to 50 metres.
The 18k white gold hour markers and Royal Oak hands carry a luminescent coating, the warm metal tone sitting against the smoked blue surface. The date window completes the function set alongside hours, minutes and a sweeping centre seconds hand.
This Royal Oak Selfwinding, Reference 15510BC.OO.1320BC.04, has visible scratches on the crystal, dents on the bezel and case, and visible scratches across the caseback, bracelet and clasp, yet it remains in good condition.
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
