Oystersteel belongs to the 904L steel family, as described on the official Rolex India page, alloys most commonly used where maximum corrosion resistance is essential. The 41mm monobloc case is machined from it, maintaining the Oyster architecture of a monobloc middle case, screw-down case back and Triplock screw-down crown for triple waterproofness to 300 metres. The Cerachrom ceramic bezel insert is virtually scratchproof, with its knurled edge designed to provide grip underwater even with gloves, and platinum-coated numerals and graduations on the 60-minute unidirectional scale.

The black dial carries Chromalight hour markers and hands in simple shapes, triangles, circles and rectangles chosen for instant and reliable reading to prevent confusion underwater. The long-lasting blue luminescence of the Chromalight display holds its glow well into a dive. A luminescent capsule on the zero marker completes the legibility package. The Cyclops lens sits over the date at three o'clock.
