The Ballon Bleu was designed around the crown: instead of sitting at three o'clock in the standard position, it is integrated into the case side, protected by a curved bubble-shaped guard that has defined the watch's profile since its introduction. The 42mm steel case, 13mm thick, carries that signature crown set with a synthetic cabochon-shaped spinel, a fluted finish and a convex sapphire crystal above the dial. Water resistance is up to three bar.

The blue guilloché dial carries Roman numerals guided by the blue winding mechanism, the guilloché texture giving the surface a fine, shifting character under light. Sword-shaped hands in the same blue tone track the time, and a calendar aperture sits at three o'clock. The colour logic runs from the dial through to the blue alligator-skin strap, the palette coherent without being rigid.
