The 42mm monobloc Oystersteel case was built for environments where the position of the sun is either invisible or irrelevant. Caves eliminate all ambient light. Active volcanic sites eliminate visibility. Polar summers eliminate the night entirely. In each case, the Explorer II's fixed 24-hour graduated bezel and orange 24-hour arrow hand solve the same problem: one hand completes a full circuit every 24 hours, tracking reference time independently against a fixed scale. Local time adjusts via the Twinlock screw-down crown without disturbing the reference hand, stopping the movement precisely via the stop-seconds function. Water resistance holds to 100 metres.
The white dial carries Chromalight hour markers and hands with long-lasting blue luminescence, the high-contrast surface chosen for maximum legibility in low and artificial light. An instantaneous date display sits at three o'clock under a Cyclops lens.
This Explorer II, Reference 226570, has light scratches on the caseback, yet it remains in excellent condition.
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
