The Polaris collection was born from the Memovox Polaris of 1968, an unconventionally large diving watch that introduced an alarm complication audible enough to warn divers when it was time to ascend. The Polaris Chronograph carries that adventurous character forward in a 42mm stainless steel case at 11.92mm thick. Every Jaeger-LeCoultre watch undergoes the house's 1,000 Hour Control programme — internal testing that exceeds official chronometry standards — with a quality seal engraved on the caseback once it passes. Water resistance holds to 10 bar.
The blue dial runs three distinct surface treatments simultaneously: an opaline inner bezel, a grained circle for the hours and indexes, and a sunburst-brushed centre. The contrast between the three textures gives the dial visual depth without altering its colour. White luminescent numerals and a tachymeter scale complete the chronograph layout, with a 30-minute counter and hour counter alongside the central chronograph seconds hand.
This Polaris Chronograph, Reference Q9028180, has visible scratches across the case, caseback, bracelet and clasp, yet it remains in very good condition.
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
