The slate dial is built in two stages. Masterful brushing creates grooves running outward from the dial's centre, diffusing light consistently along each engraving and producing the shifting glow of a sunray finish. The slate colour arrives via Physical Vapour Deposition or electroplating before a final varnish coat. The resulting surface shifts between charcoal and silver as the wrist moves. Against the white gold fluted bezel, the cool palette stays entirely consistent. The fluted bezel in gold, its grooves originating as a functional screwing mechanism before becoming a mark of distinction, sits on a 36mm Oyster case in White Rolesor. The Twinlock screw-down crown, Cyclops lens over the date and water resistance to 100 metres complete the case.
Chromalight hour markers and hands carry long-lasting blue luminescence alongside the date at three o'clock.
This Datejust 36, Reference 126234, has visible scratches across the case, caseback, bracelet, and clasp, yet it remains in good condition.
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
