The Laureato's octagonal bezel and integrated bracelet date to 1975, the year Girard-Perregaux joined Royal Oak and Nautilus in defining what a luxury sports watch could look like. The 38mm stainless steel case, at 10mm thick, keeps the silhouette compact and unisex, with polished and satin-finished surfaces alternating across the bezel and case sides in a pattern that moves with the light. Sapphire crystal covers both the front and caseback, water resistance holds to 100 metres, and the integrated bracelet flows directly from the case without visible lugs.

The copper dial is the watch's entire argument. Girard-Perregaux applies the Clous de Paris motif across its surface, a traditional pattern of miniature pyramidal structures that catch and redirect light in different directions simultaneously. The colour shifts from tawny brown in one light to pink-toned gold in another, the specific tone at any moment entirely dependent on the angle of the wrist and the quality of the light above it. Applied baton indices and a gold-plated central seconds hand sit across the surface, with a date window at three o'clock as the only additional function.
