IWC has supported the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation since 2005, funding sport programmes for disadvantaged young people worldwide. The IW379507 is the 13th special edition issued as part of that commitment. The 45mm rubber-coated stainless steel case houses a flyback chronograph movement and presents in a distinctive Laureus blue that runs through the dial and the overall configuration. A sapphire crystal caseback carries an engraving of a drawing by 15-year-old Melan from Sri Lanka, the winner of the annual drawing competition IWC organises each year with Laureus. No two owners of these 1,000 watches carry a generic caseback.
The blue dial carries Arabic numerals and luminous indices for legibility, with a date display at three o'clock. The Aquatimer's classification as a diver's watch confirms its construction for water as well as daily wear.
This Aquatimer Chronograph Edition "Laureus Sport for Good", Reference IW379507, is in good condition despite having visible scratches across the crystal, case and caseback. The rubber strap remains well-maintained.
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
