TAG Heuer introduced the Grand Carrera collection in 2007 as a premium line of watches for discerning watch enthusiasts. These timepieces came equipped with a novel Rotating Disc system that presented the sub-counters in an entirely new fashion on the dial and refined design elements that signalled TAG Heuer’s fine craftsmanship. This Ref. CAV511A.FC6225 is the first generation of Grand Carrera powered by calibre 17.

Encased in stainless steel and measuring 43mm in diameter, the elegant, round case carries brushed and polished finishes. The tachymeter bezel and the screw-lock pushers and crown deliver practicality. However, it’s the black dial where the real magic happens. Adeptly balancing the signature and the avant-garde, this Grand Carrera features applied indexes, a luminous handset and the date aperture at six o’clock. The chronograph functionality is achieved via the two counters at three and nine o’clock, measuring small seconds and minutes. These counters are subtly adorned with côtes de Genève finishing on the metal part. With a sapphire crystal case back and a robust leather strap the tasteful personality of this watch is further secured. In addition, the self-winding mechanical movement—calibre 17 with 42 hours of power reserve makes this watch a true TAG Heuer must-have.
